Hospitality Cart

Bringing smiles and snacks floor to floor

Our Hospitality Cart Program is based 7 days a week inside MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital downtown on floors 1 – 10 and the R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion in North Charleston.

Our Hospitality Cart’s mission is to provide a warm and welcoming environment to families and patients in critical care. Volunteers will serve families, children, and care team members with coffee/beverages, snacks, and other items to help them feel at ease and know that RMHC Charleston supports them during challenging times. Volunteers help ensure the cart is clean, disinfected, organized and well-stocked while ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.

This is a position that comes in contact with children who, at times, may be extremely ill. This volunteer will need to be able to cope with seeing children and families who are enduring extreme hardship. Emotional fortitude is a must.

This volunteer opportunity requires a six-month, weekly commitment.

Volunteers must go through MUSC’s Onboarding Protocols.

Contact our Volunteer Manager to sign up or for more information.

“These carts are 100% donation funded and we couldn’t do this without our wonderful community partners.” – Melissa Kubu, Volunteer Services MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital

Are you not able to help volunteer, but want to support our program? Individuals and businesses can make in-kind donations of individually wrapped snacks, coffee cups, individual creamers, and other items online here or they can be dropped off at the House.

This program was made possible by the generosity of our sponsors: The Post & Courier Foundation; Finance of America Cares; Charleston County Government; The Henry & Sylvia Yaschik Foundation; Murden Construction, LLC; and Charleston Wraps.
